Workshop Details
The Center for Asian American Religion, Theology, and Culture‘s 2026 annual workshop will take place on January 7-8th, 2027, at Greensboro College. Our two-day program is designed to help you:
- Share your lived experiences as an Asian American.
- Enhance your awareness of the significance of Asian American identities in educational settings.
- Learn about pedagogical strategies, including engaging discussions of case scenarios.
- Build a strong community with fellow leaders in North Carolina.
We’ll provide the venue, meals, and refreshments at Greensboro College. To help cover your time, lodging, and travel, participants will receive a small stipend based on your location ($200-$500).
This year, our workshop is supported by the Reynolds Ministry Grant Fund (the United Methodist Foundation/Western NC conference).
For the keynote speaker, we will host Dr. Sujin Pak (Dean of the Boston University School of Theology).

Application Criteria
To be eligible for the workshop, you must:
- Be over 18 years old.
- Be passionate about integrating your racial identity into your educational, activist, or ministry settings.
- Currently be working in the field of education, ministry, and/or activism (e.g., instructor, professor, K-12 teacher, pastor, or non-profit staff).
- PhD and seminary students are welcome, provided they are currently teaching in some capacity (e.g., TA with classroom responsibilities, pastors).
- Be able to travel and participate in the in-person workshop on January 7-8th, 2027.
- Be based in South-Eastern Region (e.g. NC, SC, VA, GA, TN, FL, AL).
